10:33 pm - Housing?
Hi! I'm starting the MLIS program in the fall and am trying to find housing!
Just wondering what these areas are like ... I'm looking at a few apartments- one on Wharncliffe Rd N, one on Dundas, one on Central Ave and one on Western Rd near the school. Any of these known to be terrible areas or good areas? Any great bus routes I should know about?

Thanks and can't wait to meet everyone this fall :)

Yay! I am also starting in the fall. I found a place on Wharncliffe Rd.. bonus because it's on a bus route? There's a couple of threads on r/londonontario on good/bad neighbourhoods. Basically every place I looked at I googled mapped to see how far I would have to walk to get to class/where groceries/beer could be found. I didn't do a whole lot of bus route checking until after I got to places and then would look for bus stops outside.

The general rule of thumb seemed to be to stay west of Adelaide?

Good luck in your search!

Hi everyone!

I, too, am starting the MLIS program in the fall and am really looking forward to it! I'm originally from the London area, but have been living across Canada for the past few years, so I sometimes forget the "areas" of London. As far as Adelaide goes, yes, word on the street is to stay West. Funny enough, the apartment I found is JUST within this boundary. Whew! ;-)

I'd love to learn more about you guys! Where is everyone from? Why MLIS? I'll be honest, I'm a bit nervous about the whole thing, so it would be nice to hear some of your hopes/dreams/worries.

Talk soon!

I'll be staying at London Hall residence, I guess its more for upper year and grad students but I still have my worries about the "suite style" and who you may end up with as roommates. It's too bad they don't offer more apartment style but I guess those do tend to fill fast. I'm pumped for September, I've never done anything like this degree before. Anyone else taking the residence route?
